Sunshine Girls drawn in Pool A for Commonwealth Games
World's fourth-ranked Jamaica has been drawn in Pool A for the 2018 Commonwealth Games Netball Competition.
The Jamaicans will face world number-one ranked Australia, number-five ranked South Africa, and lower-ranked teams Barbados, Fiji, and Northern Ireland in their group in the tournament set for April 4-15 in Gold Coast, Australia.
Pool B features world number two New Zealand, number three England, Malawi, Wales, Scotland, and Uganda.
The Jamaicans drew a three-Test series against Barbados earlier this year. A series, Netball Jamaica president Paula Daley-Morris said, was to help Barbados qualify for the Commonwealth Games next year.
The Jamaicans will open their campaign on April 5, 2018 against Fiji. They will play South Africa on April 6, Northern Ireland on April 8, Barbados on April 9, and Australia on April 11.
The top-two teams from each pool will move to the semi-finals, with the bottom-four teams from each pool playing in the classification round to determine fifth to 12th place.
The winners of the respective semi-finals will play the gold-medal match on April 15.
