Kanye West reaches settlement with former assistant
Kanye West has reached a settlement with a former assistant who accused him of sexual assault.
The hitmaker was sued in June 2024 by Lauren Pisciotta – who had worked for him from 2021 to 2023 – for sexual harassment, breach of contract, and wrongful termination. More than a year later, she filed an amended complaint that also included allegations of stalking, sexual battery, sex trafficking, and false imprisonment.
But on July 23, the pair reached a settlement agreement, the details of which have not been disclosed. Pisciotta must now file a request to have the case dismissed within 45 days. According to documents obtained by USA Today, the settlement has been designated as “unconditional”, meaning no court-ordered terms or conditions are required to complete the dismissal of the case. A follow-up hearing is scheduled for September 28.
Pisciotta’s attorney, Arick Fudali, said: “The matter has been resolved.”
In her original complaint, Pisciotta alleged West had sent her explicit texts and pornographic videos, photos and calls, and her amended complaint accused him of trying to force sex acts on her. In documents obtained by People magazine, the woman accused the rapper of having “attempted to vaginally penetrate Ms Pisciotta with his fingers” and also having “orally raped her without her consent” while she worked for him.
Pisciotta alleged the 49-year-old star tried to kiss her multiple times without her consent before succeeding once during a trip to San Francisco in 2021. She also claimed that on another work trip, West bombarded her with intimate questions and then “stroked his penis over his pants with one hand and forcibly touched her vagina with the other hand”. The complaint also alleged that West exposed his penis to Pisciotta before pushing her onto the bed and pinning her down.
The documents state: “He then thrust his penis repeatedly into Ms Pisciotta’s face against her will.
“As Ms Pisciotta frantically pled for Ye (by which the artiste is also known) to stop, Ye forced his penis into her mouth. Ms Pisciotta froze in shock and fear, but continued to plead with Ye and beg him to stop. After some time, Ye ended the rape, apologised, and exited Ms Pisciotta’s hotel room.”
