A fun-filled beach party in St Ann turned ugly on Sunday when a brawl erupted among patrons, leaving a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old injured, including one who was reportedly struck in the head with a bottle.

The incident unfolded during the Zimi Seh Beach Party at Puerto Seco Beach in Discovery Bay on Sunday, August 9.

The injured boys, are both from Kingston.

They reportedly suffered several injuries during the melee, but Senior Superintendent of Police Carlos Russell, commandant for the St Ann Police Division, said the teenagers were not seriously hurt and are recovering.

The circumstances surrounding the fight remain under investigation.

According to reports, the trouble began when one of the teenagers accidentally splashed water on another patron.

What started as an apparent misunderstanding quickly escalated into an argument before scuffles reportedly broke out between the two sides.

During the chaos, one of the teenagers was allegedly hit in the head with a bottle.

There were also reports that a man being sought in connection with the incident was apprehended at the airport while allegedly attempting to leave the island.

However, Russell told The STAR on Tuesday that while he could confirm that two teenagers were injured, he could not confirm that anyone had been arrested at the airport.

Meanwhile, organisers of the Best Weekend Ever series, under which Zimi Seh falls, have condemned the violence.

In a statement, the promoters reminded patrons of their track record of prioritising safety at their events and expressed concern over the incident.

Investigations into the brawl are continuing.
