Reggae-dancehall star Tifa says she is once again being deliberately targeted online, with persons going out of their way to undermine her career.

The entertainer, determined not to be stopped by her naysayers, recently released a single, Can't Cancel Me. She said that her TikTok posts have been repeatedly flagged and removed just as they begin to gain major traction, and that her new song has not been spared from the online attack.

"I've always said that my posts have been flagged and shadow banned, and sometimes I don't even talk about it because I come across as paranoid, but this is obvious with my current song's audio being removed and muted as unauthorised content," Tifa said.

According to the entertainer, there is nothing wrong with the content of the song, but "people hide behind fake pages and make an effort to report everything I post".

Under its community guidelines, TikTok may shadow ban, mute audio, or remove posts for several reasons including inappropriate material, misinformation, harassment, or hate speech--even when those reports are false. Users also exploit loopholes by mass-reporting creators' content through fake accounts, which can trigger automatic removals until an official appeal or investigation takes place.

Tifa alleged that just last week, one of her posts featuring a one-minute snippet of Can't Cancel Me was taken down. At the same time, more than 5,000 videos using the track's audio were muted on TikTok. Two days later, after she publicly noted that one post was muted while another remained visible, the second post was also reported and removed.

"I'm definitely being targeted because of simple jealousy; they recognise I've gotten another hit song and they are trying hard to derail it but it won't work," Tifa said.

She added: "They have even tried to hack my WhatsApp and IG (Instagram) but this is just showing me how threatened they feel by my success. Evil will never prevail though and as the song says 'God a my Boss, so them can't cancel me'," she declared.

Tifa confirmed that she has since reached out to the social media platform, who have launched a formal investigation.
